Just spoke to the retired veteran from the camper fire we responded to and let him know that we have received a small amount of clothes and a gift card for him. He informed us that he has been living under the Biloxi/Ocean Springs bridge on HWY 90 since losing his home and all belongings on the way to live at Perk Beach. If anyone has more resources or ideas to help with his living situation, please let us know. Thank you.

Looking for community help. #stonecounty We responded to a mobile home/vehicle fire on Highway 49 recently as a resident, a disabled Veteran, lost all clothing and belongings when it caught fire during relocation. At this time, we are asking for help gathering size 2XL shirts and 42x29 or 42x30 pants for this gentleman. If you have either of these items, please place them in bags or boxes and message us to drop them off at McHenry Fire Station. Thanks in advance!

Multiple fire departments on scene this morning with a fully involved structure fire. The call came in a few minutes before 6 a.m. on West McHenry Road in McHenry about 3 miles from HWY 49. Resident was outside of home at arrival, unsure about any pets that may have escaped. A tanker shuttle has been established and there will be trucks in and out if the area between the home and our fire dept at the corner of West McHenry and McHenry Avenue for water supply. Please use caution when passing through. We will update this post with any donation information we can gather after overhaul.

Non-stop grass fires since this morning, county wide. This one began as a small pile of trash and leaves. It quickly picked up from the wind and got away from the resident before he could stop it. The wind today is much stronger than it appears please refrain from burning. Thank you.
