History lesson: 1002/1004 Van Buren, home of South Depot Taco Shop and Greenline was Callaway’s Music (as seen in the preserved sign) in the 1950s, Holley’s mec...hanic shop, Yates Garage, and Dr. Alison Busby’s Oxford Sporting Goods. Prior to that it housed Buffalo Harmon’s men’s store and Hume’s shoe store and Hume’s menswear. If the name rings a bell, it is because owner Branham Hume was the son of Chancellor Hume, for whom Hume Hall on campus is named. Many will also remember the beloved As Seen On TV.
