After a wild afternoon here at the office with winds reaching 75 mph just after 4 pm, some showers and storms remain, with just a few showers expected tonight. Lows in the 60s. THURSDAY: Showers/storms mainly across the south and east. Highs mid/upper 80s.

Rain will continue to move through the eastern portions of the area this morning. Additional showers and storms will develop in the east this afternoon.

Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms will be the rule of today. Highs will range from the upper 70s to around 80.

Isolated severe storms will be possible mainly this afternoon over portions of northeast Louisiana and southwest Mississippi. Damaging winds will be the primary impact, although a tornado cannot be ruled out. Also, localized flash flooding is possible over western portions mainly this afternoon, especially in low lying and urban areas.

Scattered showers and storms tonight and Wednesday. TONIGHT: Showers and thunderstorms possible overnight. With increased clouds and rain, lows should fall to mid/upper 60s. TOMORROW: Warm and humid, chances for showers and thunderstorms. Highs low/mid 80s.

Localized flash flooding is possible over much of the southeast half of the area this afternoon into tonight, particularly in low lying and urban areas. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue into the evening. Lows will fall into the 60s.

Overall, rain chances will be increasing later today with showers and some thunderstorms anticipated. High temperatures should range from the lower to upper 80s across the forecast area.
