The Cross Bible Plan: Isaiah 50 (No-Video Version Today) Scripture: 4 The Sovereign Lord has given me a well-instructed tongue, to know the word that sustai...ns the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being instructed. 5 The Sovereign Lord has opened my ears; I have not been rebellious, I have not turned away. 6 I offered my back to those who beat me, my cheeks to those who pulled out my beard; I did not hide my face from mocking and spitting. 7 Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame. 8 He who vindicates me is near. Who then will bring charges against me? Let us face each other! Who is my accuser? Let him confront me! 9 It is the Sovereign Lord who helps me. Who will condemn me? They will all wear out like a garment; the moths will eat them up. Observation: Jesus is the suffering Servant who is vindicated by God. Application: Because it is God the Father who determines ultimate victory I don’t have to look at my present circumstances to know if I’m doing well. It’s okay if people misunderstand me. Like Jesus, my obedience is what will be rewarded forever, not temporary results. Prayer: Jesus, help me to walk as you did. Lead me to love no matter how I am treated. Give me the trust and faith you had as you walked among us to know all will be well. Amen.

Way Maker Bible Plan: Exodus 17:1-7 (No-Video Version Today) Scripture: The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to pl...ace as the Lord commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. So they quarreled with Moses and said, Give us water to drink. Moses replied, Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the Lord to the test? But the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, Why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst? Then Moses cried out to the Lord, What am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me. The Lord answered Moses, Go out in front of the people. Take with you some of the elders of Israel and take in your hand the staff with which you struck the Nile, and go. I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and water will come out of it for the people to drink. So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the Lord saying, Is the Lord among us or not? Observation: When the Israelites had no water God used Moses to bring water out of even rock. Application: God has shown me two quick things this morning. The first, tied also to Exodus 16 where God sends the manna or daily bread, is a word of provision. God often provides what’s needed, when it’s needed and not in overwhelming abundance. The second is the image of God bringing water out of the rock. If God can make food out of nothing and bring water out of stone, he can certainly transform me and bring good things out of my life and soul. Prayer: Jesus, give me this day my daily bread. Don’t give me too much that I grow arrogant and forget my need for you. Yet, give me enough that I don’t shame you by begging or theft. Give me my needs for today and lead me to to be content with that. As well Jesus, you are my daily bread. My rock heart, my barren desert soul, can’t provide life unless the life is your life. Transform me into your image by your hand. I am willing and you are able. Amen.
